What moves the price
- Size
- We size from a room-by-room load calculation. A bigger unit than the house needs costs more and short-cycles.
- Venting
- Going from a metal flue to PVC through the wall, or lining the chimney for the water heater, adds $300 to $1,200.
- Ductwork
- Undersized returns or crushed runs get fixed during the install. We price it line by line.
- Electrical
- A heat pump may need a new 240-volt circuit. If the panel is full, we tell you before you decide.
- Access
- Attics, crawl spaces and tight closets take longer. We measure the access on the estimate visit.
- Refrigerant lines
- Old copper lines that don't match the new unit's size get replaced.
Included in every install
- Room-by-room load calculation before we pick a size
- Altitude setup and a combustion test on every gas furnace and boiler
- Permit pulled and inspection scheduled wherever your city or county requires one
- Old equipment removed, refrigerant recovered, metal recycled
- Chimney draft check, and a liner when the water heater needs one
- New thermostat and filter rack
- 10-year labor warranty from us, in writing
- Manufacturer warranty registered in your name
- A follow-up visit after the first cold snap or heat wave
Set up for 5,280 feet
Air at a mile high holds about 17 percent less oxygen per cubic foot than at sea level. A gas furnace or boiler left on its factory setup burns too rich here.
We follow the manufacturer's high-altitude instructions for orifices and gas pressure, then test the flue gas with a combustion analyzer before we leave. The readings go on your paperwork.

Heat pumps in a Denver winter
Cold-climate heat pumps keep heating at 0°F and below. On the coldest nights, backup heat strips or a gas furnace take over on their own.
Dual fuel is the most common choice in the metro. The heat pump runs most of the year and the furnace takes the coldest nights. We set the switch-over temperature with you, based on your house and your utility rates.
Install day
Furnace or air conditioner swaps take one day. Heat pumps take one to two.
Repairs are paid when the work is done. For replacements, there's no deposit until the equipment is delivered, and the balance is due after the final walk-through. Financing for new systems with approved credit through a third-party lender.
7:30 am

Noon
Venting, gas line and condensate drain.
2:00 pm

Replacement questions

Is there still a federal tax credit for heat pumps?
Not for a system installed in 2026. The IRS says the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit applies to improvements made through December 31, 2025.

Do you handle the permit?
Yes. We pull the permit wherever your city or county requires one, schedule the inspection and include the fee in the price.
How long does a furnace last in Denver?
Most gas furnaces we replace are 18 to 25 years old. A correct altitude setup and a tune-up every fall make most of the difference.
Should I switch to a heat pump?
It depends on your ducts, your electrical panel and your gas and electric rates. Where it makes sense, the estimate shows a furnace-and-AC option and a heat pump option side by side.
Can I finance a new system?
Yes, with approved credit through a third-party lender. The monthly payment is shown on the estimate next to the cash price.
